The Clicking Championship is a typing tournament that was developed by Nico Borst in January of 2019. It took two weeks to execute and represents the first major sponsored typing tournament in many years. It was made possible by the collective support and trust of the typing communities on 10FF, Typeracer, and Nitrotype, which Phan frequently identifies as the triangle, or the holy trinity of the typing esport movement. The championship was organized through the Typing Esport Network and is the first typing tournament marketed aggressively as an esport. According to Phan, the movement would not have been possible without the energy of the Nitrotype youths, who who gave him the stark realization that they represented the future of typing. With the additional help of past and present typists throughout the triangle community, a new movement to establish typing as an esport began.
